Ann Sinclair Charitable Trust 2008 Farm Training Insitution Grants
Presbyterian Support Central is pleased to announce grants valued over $90,000 to be distributed throughout the lower North Island through the Ann Sinclair Charitable Trust. The Ann Sinclair Charitable Trust has three categories under which grant applications are considered. Category B is for Farm Training Institutions.
Wairarapa College has been granted $8,000 to assist three young local men in 2008.
Anthony Colton is a Year 11 weekly boarder student studying the NCEA Agricultural course in his sixth form year. Antony comes from a rural South Wairarapa 400 acre sheep and beef farm.
Anthony has a condition known as dyspraxia which means he needs to work harder than most. Last year he achieved second over all in his class. “This grant ensures that Anthony can board at Wairarapa College and continue to receive specialised assistance from a SPELD tutor”, Jocelyn Colton said.
James Cameron is one of five children from Pahaoa Station which has been in the family since 1840. “James has real aptitude for Science and this grant ensures that he can continue boarding at Wairarapa College to fulfil his dream if a career in agriculture”, said his mother Sue Cameron.
Jack Colton from Te Tipua has been a boarder at Wairarapa College since 2007. Jack has achieved excellent academic results in Science and Maths and returns to the College in Year 10 this year.
Distributions from the Ann Sinclair Charitable Trust are made by Presbyterian Support Central annually towards the end of the year. The closing date for applications is 31 October.
