The Scott Fund Trust

Scott Fund TrustThe Scott Fund Trust was established to provide assistance, particularly educational, for physically disabled young people in Hawke's Bay and Gisborne through a bequest by the late David Scott.

Applications (for help for individuals only) are welcome from caregivers, specialist agencies such as CCS, Hearing Association, Special Education Units, kindergartens, schools, the local hospital's community services section or from young people themselves.

If the application is made by an agency the young person or a caregiver of the young person must also sign the application.

Fund Assistance

Pre-school, primary, secondary, polytechnic, university studies and trade training are all eligible for grants. Examples of previous assistance are wheelchairs, computers and special software, salaries for one-to-one teacher aids, faxes for deaf children, tape recorders to assist with note-taking at lectures, fees for special conferences, fitness equipment, and travel costs for students.

Application Procedure

Applications are considered monthly by the Scott Fund Trust committee. Generally before an application reaches a meeting a Trust representative may make contact with the applicant and his or her family. Our experience is that a personal discussion is helpful as it is often difficult to fully explain problems in an application form.Click here to download an application form.
