How you can help

Most of us have the will or desire to help people in need and to bring about positive change in our families and communities. Below are some of the ways that you can realise your charitable ambition by supporting Presbyterian Support Northern (PSN).

Become a donor

You could support one of our three key services, a specific programme or area of interest by making regular donations by cheque, credit card, automatic payment or you may wish to provide a donation through the postal appeals we conduct throughout the year.

Alternatively you may like to consider a personal gift to PSN such as:

  • a gift of property, shares or other assets
  • getting your business to sponsor a particular project or aspect of our work
  • spreading a large gift over a period of up to five years.

Joining our database of donors means you receive our appeal material and regular copies of Northern Notes, the Presbyterian Support Northern newsletter.

Should you wish to make a substantial gift we invite you to contact our Fundraising Manager to discuss your preference for its use.

Make a lasting difference through a bequest

A commitment to our work through a bequest in your Will can serve as a lasting and significant memorial, helping ensure our work can continue for the benefit of current and future generations.

Your bequest can be directed to support a specific service, area or programme - or you can tell us to apply it to the need that is most pressing at the time we receive it. (Because we are not likely to receive your bequest until far into the future, we ask that your bequest is written in terms as general as possible.)

You may also be interested in joining one of the Bequest Societies we are establishing in Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Waikato and Northland.  Our Bequest Society functions give us the opportunity to keep you updated on our work, to hear from interesting guest speakers and to recognise and honour the generosity of  donors who have confirmed to us that they have included Presbyterian Support Northern in their Wills.

To find out more about making a bequest, or if you would like to join one of our Bequest Societies please email our Bequest Advisor at linda.stratford@psn.org.nz or phone her on 09 520 8603.

Become a volunteer

There are many opportunities to assist PSN and our clients through the gift of your time and skills as one of our valued volunteers

This could include providing assistance at one of our Enliven Day Programmes (in Hamilton and Whakatane), providing transportation or becoming a volunteer Befriender, helping out at our Auckland Foodbank or Opportunity Shoppe in Hamilton or perhaps providing some administration support to one of our Family Works Northern teams.

We acknowledge with gratitude the significant financial contribution our supporters make to help ensure our work in the community can continue.
