How You Can Help

By Becoming a Volunteer

VolunteerWe need people with a wide variety of skills, talents, interests and abilities, including patience, a sense of humour, a willingness to learn, and the ability to relate well to others.

Anyone with a few hours to spare and who has the interest, desire and commitment to share in and enhance the wellbeing of our clients has the potential to be a Presbyterian Support volunteer.

Volunteers have played a vital role in the development of our organisation and are an integral part of every facet of our work.

Our volunteers help through a wide range of activities. They help care for older people, people with mental health disabitities and young mothers in our day centres and residential homes. In caring for older people they assist with recreational activities, gardening, transport for appointments and outings, letter writing, reading, companionship, entertainment, and sewing. Others help with fundraising activities. Still others are mentors to young people through our mentoring programmes.

Helping Presbyterian Support with social services gives volunteers an opportunity to have a positive input into their community. If you would like to find out more about being a volunteer or have any questions please contact your regional office. Volunteers are also used in Nelson/Marlborough.

By Becoming a Financial Supporter

We are grateful for any donations, grants and bequests, and the vote of confidence in the work of Presbyterian Support that they represent. Donations help us to offer the range of services that really make a difference for people in the Upper South Island. All donations will be used in the region they come from.

Donations of goods and services are also gratefully received. Please contact us for more information.

A gift in your will is a very positive way to help Presbyterian Support care for the people it supports in the Upper South Island.

Together with us you can make a difference and help build a better future for our communities.

If you would like more information or wish to discuss a bequest please contact us.
