We believe everybody
deserves to enjoy life,
whatever their age
Moving into a retirement village isn’t about slowing down; it’s about having peace of mind and time to do the things you love. Coombrae Village resident Margaret Morris is a testament to that.
At 69 years old, Margaret is the treasurer at the Rangitikei Club Seniors group and works part time as the Stroke Club coordinator.
“Age to me doesn’t mean anything. I like to keep myself busy.”
Margaret chose to move into Enliven’s Coombrae Village in Feilding last year after deciding her family home was too large for one person.
“After my husband passed away I thought about moving into a private unit as the house was too big. I had a look at these villas with my family and we all agreed that this was the place for me, so here I am.”
Margaret says her villa is the perfect size and she enjoys the location – especially with Coombrae Home right next door.
“My family lives locally, and my 11-year-old grandson stays with me most weekends. It’s great having two bedrooms.”
Margaret says someone from Coombrae Home visits each weekday to check she is in good health and help is on hand from neighbouring Coombrae Home if she ever needs it.
“It’s so nice to know they care. It’s a safe environment and I’m more than happy here. When people ask what it’s like to live in a retirement village I tell them I love it.”
Enliven offers a range of retirement living options throughout the lower North Island including Feilding’s Coombrae Village, Brightwater Village in Palmerston North, as well as in-home support services and respite care.
