We believe everybody
deserves to enjoy life,
whatever their age
Moving into an Enliven retirement village is a gift to your family. That’s the message from Kowhainui Village resident Shirley Lockett, who says living at the well-known village means her family never has to worry.
“It’s a gift to your family moving into an Enliven retirement village because you’re living in a secure and beautiful place. Your family never has to worry about your wellbeing because there’s always someone near to help.”
Shirley and her husband moved into their Kowhainui villa, the sister site of Abingdon Villas, four years ago. Shirley says it was a safeguard for their future and gives their family peace of mind.
“Living in an Enliven villa means we’re independent but all the little things are taken care of. The village coordinator visits almost daily to make sure everyone is in good health and has everything they need.”
Enliven can organise short or long-term healthcare assistance, practical home help, personal care services, meals and house keeping services for residents at the two villages.
The organisation also takes care of property maintenance and lawn mowing so residents can focus on enjoying their retirement.
Shirley says an added bonus is that village residents are given preferential entry into Enliven’s Kowhainui Home, which was one of the reasons she and her husband made the move.
“Kowhainui Home has a great reputation and if we ever need rest home or hospital care that’s where we’d like to be.”
She also enjoys the convenience of the meal service available to village residents.
“Another aspect that sets this place apart from the rest is the food. The meals from Kowhainui Home are absolutely fantastic.”
Shirley’s advice to anyone thinking about a move to a retirement village is to not wait too long.
“Safeguard your future and choose where you want to retire. Your family will thank you for it.”
