The Brightwater difference
Enliven Central embraces the Eden Alternative – an elder-directed model of care. At Brightwater Home you’ll be supported to maintain your independence and routines, and to continue with your hobbies, interests and passions.
Your pet is welcome to move in with you if it ‘gets on’ with other people and animals. Your grandchildren and other family are always welcome to visit. If you’re a gardener we have plenty of space and if you’re a cook, our chef is always looking for a helping hand! There is also a high level of family and community involvement at Brightwater Home. Residents are welcome to entertain visitors at any time.
A life worth living
A highlight for many residents is the social life. As well as enjoying the company of others at a similar stage of life, Brightwater Home residents get involved in organising the daily happenings and special events – making the most of the varied social calendar. The constantly changing programme includes activities such as sight-seeing trips, guest entertainers, craft, themed parties and meals out. Residents are encouraged to invite their family and friends to enjoy the various lounges, gardens and courtyards, or join them for a meal.
Your place. Your space
At Brightwater Home you’ll enjoy the community feel, shared lounges, entertaining areas and secure central gardens. But of course, you’ll also have your own private room. This is your space.
The recently redecorated rooms can be furnished, but residents are invited to make the space their own. You can bring along your own familiar furniture and furnishings. Many residents bring along photos, artwork, ornaments, furniture and bed covers.
Brightwater Home staff are not only highly trained, they’re also friendly, caring and embrace an elder-directed philosophy of care.
We have nurses on-duty 24-hours-a-day. The home’s GP visits at least twice a week and we are in regular contact to ensure all clinical needs are met. Of course, if you have other health needs, such as podiatry, we’re usually able to arrange for a health professional to visit you at Brightwater Home.
The experience of dementia can cause stress and frustration for both the person experiencing dementia and their family. Enliven Central’s Brightwater Home can provide a range of services to support people with dementia and their families. At Brightwater Home you can continue to actively participate in normal life activities whilst remaining safe in a secure, purpose-built home.
Brightwater Home’s hospital level services focus on supporting residents with complex medical needs. Our staff are able to care for most medical conditions.
Respite and Convalescent Care
Enliven’s Brightwater Home also welcomes older people who require short term care and support. This may be when your usual carer or family member needs a break or following surgery or illness.
During your stay, you’ll enjoy your own furnished room, shared lounges and delicious meals in the dining room or your room. You’re also invited to take part in any of the activities and residents outings.
Brightwater Home’s sister sites – Willard Home in Palmerston North and Coombrae Home in Feilding provide rest home level care services.
Spending quality time with your loved one couldn’t be easier thanks to Brightwater Home’s family suite.
The family suite at Brightwater Home is perfect for family and friends visiting from out of town.
Equipped with one double room with double bed, two single bedrooms, one bathroom, a small lounge area with a television, a dining room, fridge, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities, the family suite at Brightwater Home is the ideal place to stay for a short time.
During your stay you can visit your loved at any time; there are no set visiting hours. You can take part in recreation activities and social outings, join your loved one for meals, venture to the centre of Palmerston North or enjoy a picnic at one of the reserves nearby.
