Enliven Central embraces the Eden Alternative – an elder-directed model of care. At Cashmere Home you’ll be supported to maintain your independence and routines, and to continue with your hobbies, interests and passions.
Your pet is welcome to move in with you if it ‘gets on’ with other people and animals. Your grandchildren and other family are always welcome to visit. If you’re a gardener we have plenty of space and if you’re a cook, our chef is always looking for a helping hand! There is also a high level of family and community involvement at Cashmere Home. Residents are welcome to entertain visitors at any time.
A life worth living
A highlight for many residents is the social life. As well as enjoying the company of others at a similar stage of life, Cashmere Home residents get involved in organising daily happenings and special events – making the most of the varied social calendar.
Regular activities and events include sight-seeing trips, a men’s shed, guest entertainers, craft, themed parties and gardening. Residents are encouraged to invite their family and friends to enjoy the various lounges, gardens and courtyards, or join them for a meal.

At Cashmere Home you’ll enjoy the community feel, shared lounges, entertaining areas and secure central gardens. But of course, you’ll also have your own private room. This is your space.
The modern rooms can be furnished, but residents are invited to make the space their own. You can bring along your own familiar furniture and furnishings. Many residents bring along photos, artwork, ornaments, furniture and bed covers.
We’re also able to offer some premium rooms. These rooms are larger with ensuite and kitchenette options.
Our staff are not only highly trained, they’re also friendly, caring and embrace an elder-directed philosophy of care.
At Cashmere Home nurses are on-duty 24-hours-a-day. Our doctor (GP) visits at least twice per week and we are in regular contact to ensure all clinical needs are met. Of course, if you have other health needs, such as physiotherapy, we can usually arrange for a health professional to visit Cashmere Home.
Cashmere Home’s hospital level services focus on supporting residents with complex medical needs. We can provide you with the very best in clinical care in an engaging and caring environment.

Accessing our services
Accessing any of our services is easy. You can be referred by a doctor or Needs Assessment Agency, or you can call us directly.
Our services can be paid for privately, or you may be eligible for a subsidy from Capital and Coast District Health Board.
