Making Aotearoa New Zealand
the best place to raise children
in flourishing families
Our South Wairarapa Food Bank is a practical way of offering a helping hand to needy families in challenging times.
The Food Bank provides emergency provisions for people who are struggling to feed themselves and their families. Each parcel should provide enough hearty food for three days.
Everyone who requests a food parcel is asked to complete a short assessment so we can ensure we’re best meeting your needs, and that of your family, in particular your children.
If the need for a food parcel becomes regular (more than three parcels) we’ll talk with you more about additional support services, such as budgeting advice, before providing another food parcel. This is important as we want to make sure you’re getting the right support to be able to be independent again.
The Family Works Central Foodbank is currently only available to South Wairarapa residents, however if you need the support of a foodbank in another area the Family Works centre near you will be able to point you in the right direction.
Family Works Central’s South Wairarapa foodbank is only made possible thanks to the support and generosity of our communities. Click here to make a donation to Family Works Central [link] or call 0508 TO HELP (that’s 0508 86 4357). Alternatively, donations can be dropped at the Wairarapa Centre at Turret House, 42 Fox Street, Featherston between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
