Family Works Central provides a range of social services for children, young people, parents and families throughout the Hutt Valley community. The majority of these services are provided from our centres in Upper Hutt and Wainuiomata.
Family Works Central prides itself of tailoring services to suit the needs of the community.

Family Works Central’s social workers are qualified to provide advice, support and advocacy for children, parents and families facing life’s most difficult challenges.
Family Works counsellors are able to offer counselling support for children, teens and adults, including individuals, couples and families who are facing challenging or difficult times.
Parenting through Separation
Family Works Parenting through Separation is a free information programme that helps you work out what’s best for your children when you’re separating.
Family Dispute Resolution
Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) helps families reach agreement on parenting arrangements after a separation or divorce.
Incredible Years parenting programme
Incredible Years is an evidence-based support programme for parents of children aged between three and eight years.
Good Fathers parenting programme
The Good Fathers programme can support you to be a great parent and role model for your children.
Growing Together parenting programme
Growing Together is Family Works Central’s own parent education and support programme.
If your family is being supported by more than one community organisation or government service, Strengthening Families may be for you.
Community Youth Programme
The Community Youth Programme has been designed to encourage young people who have been in trouble with police or the law to make positive choices.
Out of Gate: community reintegration
Family Works Central can support women being released from Arohata Prison, near Wellington, to settle back into the community after spending time in prison.
Family Works Central is an accredited provider of counselling and workplace support services through various Employee Assistance programmes (EAP).
New Settlers Group
Family Works Central’s New Settlers Group has been designed for women who have migrated to New Zealand and may feel isolated after leaving their extended family and friends for a new life here.
