Presbyterian Support Central provides a wide range of health and social services to people of all ages from Taranaki to Whanganui, Manawatu, Horowhenua, Wairarapa and throughout the Greater Wellington region. Most of these services are provided through either Family Works Central or Enliven Central.

Family Works services

Through Family Works Central we work alongside people experiencing challenging or difficult times to help them make positive changes in their lives. This is a reflection of our dedication to supporting the wellbeing of children, young people and their family and whānau.

Services and support provided by Family Works Central includes:

  • social work
  • individual and group counselling and therapy for children, teenagers and adults
  • parenting programmes and advice
  • family dispute resolution
  • Social Workers in Schools
  • youth mentoring and programmes to build confidence and resilience amongst young people
  • youth justice programmes
  • family violence prevention
  • restorative justice and community reintegration
  • connection to community supports, groups and networks.

Enliven services

Enliven Central provides a full range of services that support people to maintain their independence and enjoy fulfilling lives.

The Enliven philosophy recognises that people need to maintain control over their lives, wherever they live and whatever their age. We can support people to live and manage their own households, in their own way.

Services and support provided by Enliven Central throughout the lower North Island:

  • practical in-home support and personal care services to support people to maintain their independence at home
  • boutique and vibrant retirement villages
  • warm, welcoming elder-directed rest homes and hospitals
  • respite and social clubs for older people living in their own homes
  • residential care, respite and day programmes for people living with dementia
  • other health services, including provision of continence products and tai chi classes.

Funding support

Presbyterian Support Central administers two funds on behalf of the community.

The Ann Sinclair Charitable Trust supports students wishing to study farming, agriculture or horticulture and organisations conducting Christian camps or facilitating non-churched youth to attend Christian camps.

The James Gibb Fund provides funding support for parish-based social and community service projects that improve the lives of those deprived of opportunity or deliver educational outcomes.
