We believe everybody
deserves to enjoy life,
whatever their age
Residents of Levin’s Reevedon Village are enjoying the comfort, security and friendship that comes with being part of the close-knit retirement village.
Levin’s Reevedon Village is proving popular with retirees from all over the North Island. The Enliven operated village has residents from as far afield as Auckland, as well as many from Horowhenua, Manawatu and Wellington.
Nena (Rosena) Hills moved from Whanganui to Levin’s Reevedon Village in September last year to be closer to family. While she says deciding to move was a tough decision, she’s glad she chose Reevedon Village.
“I’m 94 years old and I moved here because I wanted to be closer to my sister and daughter. It was quite a change being in a new town but everyone has been very helpful – the Levin public and the people of Reevedon,” says Nena.
“I’ve lost my sight so sometimes I need help with things. The people here are always more than happy to help. The staff are very caring,” says Nena.
“I can still look after myself in my villa but I have dinner at Reevedon Home so I don’t have to cook, which is a very good service.”
Living at Reevedon Village means there are also plenty of opportunities for socialising, which is an aspect Nena says she enjoys the most.
“I’ve always been very active and there’s a lot to do here. I can easily walk to town and I go to Reevedon Home for bowls, activities and any entertainment they have on. They take us out in the van often – we’ve been to Te Papa in Wellington and out for lunch in different places,” Nena explains.
Reevedon Retirement Village is operated by Enliven, part of the not-for-profit organisation Presbyterian Support Central, and provides independent retirement living from 37 Salisbury Street in Levin, just a five minute walk from Levin’s main shopping centre.
