Family Works Upper Hutt feels the Christmas spirit

Staff at Family Works Upper Hutt were heartened to receive presents and food from so many different local organisations in the lead-up to Christmas.

Family Works Upper Hutt team manager Shelly Evans says items were donated from the New Zealand Defence Force, VIBE, the Upper Hutt Women’s Centre, and also Family Works clients and staff.

Funds were also used to purchase groceries to help some families in need have food to share on Christmas day.

Shelly says when one family came in to collect their items, the mum was brought to tears when she saw the kindness of her community. She said “This organisation rocks – thank you for thinking of my kids!”
