When Maggie* came to Family Works, she was carrying the weight of severe childhood trauma and the impact of domestic violence.
Maggie wanted to regain control of her life, strengthen relationships with her family, and begin healing from years of fear and isolation.
Through twelve counselling sessions with a qualified Family Works therapist, Maggie gradually rebuilt her confidence and resilience. She learnt practical ways to manage distress and experienced something equally important: being listened to without judgement.
By the end of her journey, Maggie described feeling stronger, more confident, and validated.

Rediscovering Belonging
John* and Sally* arrived at one of our Enliven Homes after a serious accident left them physically and emotionally exhausted.
With little family support and very few belongings, they arrived on Christmas Eve facing an uncertain future.
Our staff focused on helping them feel safe, comfortable, and valued. Alongside their health care needs, they received friendship, encouragement, and practical support.
Thanks to donor generosity, we were able to provide simple items many of us take for granted - warm clothing, suitable footwear, and personal care items that helped restore independence and dignity.
Over time, their health improved, friendships formed, and their confidence returned.
