Family Works

Presbyterian Support Central’s Family Works services aims to make Aotearoa, New Zealand the best place in the world to grow up; a place where all children are safe, families are strong and communities are connected.

Family Works takes a whole-of-family approach.

Our qualified and professional teams operate under a multi-disciplinary framework which means services and support can be tailored to meet the unique needs of the individual and their family and whānau.

Our staff know and understand that building trust and meaningful relationships are key to positive long-term outcomes, and that is why you’ll find them to be respectful, approachable and non-judgemental.

Presbyterian Support Central’s Family Works services and support includes:

  • Social work and advocacy for children, families and whānau.
  • Counselling including specialist family therapy, trauma counselling and counselling for individuals and couples.
  • Mediation and family dispute resolution.
  • Parenting advice, education and support.
  • Family violence, safety and prevention.
  • Group programmes.
  • Youth mentoring.
  • Restorative justice.
  • Youth justice and prison-to-community re-integration programmes.
  • Professional development workshops and clinical supervision.

Many of our services are funded, in full or in part by The Ministry of Justice, Oranga Tamariki, Ministry of Education and the Department of Corrections. However, we also rely heavily on the support and generosity of a range of philanthropic trusts, foundations, businesses and individuals.
